Fun at Salem Pond!

It was a beautiful day to be at Salem Pond!
(This is the same pond where we all did that 5K a few years ago)
The kids had a blast!
(JoLee, Jack, Adam, & Jenson)
The boys loved jumping off the dock.
Look at this hole that they dug and then filled with water.
That was quite the entertainer!
The boys were trying to make a big splash at the same time!
Check out Adam's ninja moves! Gotta love it!
Funny kids having a good ol' time while at Uncle Ryan's!

SUMMER PROJECT!!!

I'm trying to show you from different angles the property that we bought. It is .7 of an acre.
It is going to be a lot of work, but it will be worth it in the end.
Slowly, but surely!!!!
This picture is from the rear southeast corner. That is the old homestead, and the cinderblock shop, right in the middle of the property. You can't really see the single wide trailer that is in front of those buildings. The old homestead will be coming down shortly, but the cinderblock shop will stay for a little while. Unfortunately, the roof is too low for John to do his wood work and the doors are too narrow to fit his equipment, but it will be a good little workshop for now. In that empty dark spot there in the dirt was a huge pile of junk/wood. It took 3 large dump truck loads and 2 one-ton loads to clear that. It's so fun to see it cleared off! John did a great job leveling it off. He was able to borrow a friends Bobcat to help remove all the stuff. That made it soooooo much easier!!!!!

This is the single wide trailer that is on the front part of the property. It is no longer there!!! WOOHOO!!!

This is part of the demolition procress, taking the eaves and the steps off of the trailer.

The kids have been such great workers!!

Look no trailer, but we still need to demolish the little addition
that was attached to the trailer.
We've got a few nice elm trees on the property that I'd like to keep,
but I think that cedar tree in the front yard is UGLY!! It might
have to disappear!

A work in progress. It's been fun to work together as
a family and see the property get cleaned up!
I'll update more later.

BALLOON FESTIVAL

BALLOON FESTIVAL 2010
Smokey the Bear is an all time favorite!

Aren't they beautiful?!!!!

We kept chasing this one to see it land. It would get close
to the road and then it would take off again. The wind
currents kept changing and taking it away.
We called this one: Red Hot Chilli Pepper.
It was a beautiful morning!
I forgot to take my camera to the Balloon Glow.
On Saturday night, they set up the balloons on Main
and Center street. It is so pretty to see them glow at dusk.
They didn't stay up long because of the wind, but we enjoyed
it while it lasted.

Jaelyn at the State Republican Convention

Jaelyn was elected to be the State Chairman for TARS!
(Teenage Republicans)
She was sooooo excited to be able to meet
Mitt Romney and shake his hand.
This was some of the group from Garfield County.
She had a blast!!
I don't know how to add her video, so go to fb to see that.
But she spoke in front of 5,000 people at the convention.
AMAZING!!!! Way to go girl!!!
The following is a poem Jaelyn wrote on April 13, 2008, Entitled
"The Future"

Shall we allow
Our Country to repeat history
To go into depression
Or war or bigotry

Who will we choose
To run the country
Do we truly even care?

Our opinions are vital
We are the next generation
Are we taking a stand today
Or will we fall tomorrow?

Terror fills my thoughts
I hope there are others prepared
For I fear I am not

Am I that one person
Who is to make the difference
Or shall I go on living normally?

NO!
I will not!
I will be an individual
And aspire to pass the test
Of living in this world
Filled with turmoil, dejection, and revolt

If everyone cared
Wanted only the best,
Imagine the things we could achieve:
Helping EVERY dream come true
And creating endless happiness.

I thought that was pretty awesome, especially after her experiences this weekend at the Republican convention. She can make a difference in the world, one step at a time!! I'll share more of her poetry another time.

JACK IS "12" TODAY!

Happy 12th Birthday, Jack!!!
We started the day out with candles on his pancake.
Later he has requested, Chicken Spaghetti and Peach Cobbler.
He just loves it when his mom wants to take his picture (NOT)!!
He wanted to open his presents first thing this morning since
we all won't be together again till later this afternoon!
It's a good thing that it's baseball season, cuz that's what he wanted
for his bday. Some baseballs, a bat weight, and a new bat.

His team played in the Ice Breaker Tournament this weekend,
here in Panguitch.
They actually made it to the Championship game
but didn't win. Bummer!!
The team started at 8:30 a.m. Sat. morning and
finished their last game around 10 p.m.
FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
Happy Birthday to my BOY!!!
HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
