Prom time is almost here!

Jaelyn came home from FCCLA to a bedroom
full of balloons. She had to pop all of them to find out
who had asked her. Those poor boys spent
quite a bit of time blowing up all those balloons.
How fun though!

This is Jaelyn's prom dress that we just picked up and
we are trying to decide if she should wear a necklace
or not. What is your opinion? (It may not matter
cuz she'll do what she wants anyway.)
She went to a friends house and experimented with
her hair too. Up or down, she can't decide that either.
Luckily we have two more weeks.
She looks beautiful!!
Her mom thinks she looks beautiful both ways!

Jack had a BAD DAY!!

Poor Jack! He had a bad day!
What a day Jack had!
He went over the handlebars on his bike!
A bad case of road rash!
Ouch, Ouch, Ouch, Quadruple Ouch!
We've got him all bandaged up!

St. Patricks Day

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
Dinner at the Gillett house consisted of:
Green Enchildada Casserole, Green peas, Green Snicker Salad,
And for dessert, Green Rice Krispy treats.
And of course, No silverware or plates allowed tonight!!
JoLee was so excited she could hardly stand it.
She said: "is this the day we get to eat with our hands?"
Forget the hands, just use the mouth!!

Then there's Jaelyn, she is not so sure about her wacked out mother!

Jaelyn did appreciate the clean up when all she had to
do was wash a few cups and roll up the table covering
and toss it in the garbage.
Good food and fun was had by all.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Random

Toothless JoLee and cousin Lucy
Jaelyn finally got her cast off. I can't believe we forgot
to take a picture with the cast on!

Jenson and Jacie love to take pictures of themselves.
Jack and his pinewood derby car. He and John had fun
making it together.
These wild turkey's were in our back yard. There were
actually five of them back there at one time.

DINNERTME by Jaelyn Gillett

I'm sitting here at the computer and noticed Jaelyn's poetry book, so I started looking through it. Thought I'd share one from April 7, 2008, entitled "Dinnertime." I wish I could find the pictures that go with this memorable poem.

Dinnertime
By Jaelyn Gillett
April 7, 2008
The table is covered with a plastic, disposable cloth
The delectable food steams on the stove
While children are rushing to find
Their grubby clothes to wear at dinnertime
This is not an ordinary meal
For when you are seated
There will be no plates or utensils
We all eat like orphans
The food is slopped before us
Noodles and sauce,
Beans smothered in butter,
Delightful breadsticks
All waiting to be devoured
On Mom's command, we all dig in
Some gracefully pick each noodle
Some scoop it by the handfuls, shoveling it in
Others use only their mouths to slurp and inhale
Until there are no remains
Except for...
Sauce and butter mixed with grainy parmesan cheese
Dripping down each chin
Invading each and every fingernail
There's no need to pick-up
The table has been licked clean
Rip off the cloth and find the trash
Now...
It's off to the bath!!!
(That's one of her family memories that she recorded as a poem. What a kookie Mom she has!
I love the detail. Can't you taste it, and feel it? We might need to do that again soon, it is fun!)

Families Are Forever!

I don't know if I've posted these pictures
before or not. My camera is out of batteries
& I'm too cheap to buy them anywhere but Walmart
in Cedar City, so I'll post old pictures for now, just so I can
update my blog.
What a cute family! Mine forever!
John and I had a chance to get away for the night.
It was a much needed vacation. I'm so glad the kids
were all alive when we returned.
OUR FAMILY CAN BE TOGETHER
FOREVER!
